DESCRIPTION
Resource description
The health tourism market in Malaysia has grown fast over the last few years. The country has managed to attract large number of medical tourists despite economic crisis in the West. Low cost treatments, well skilled medical professionals, and high promotional activities have resulted in such a considerable growth in number of tourists. The government along with other ministries and hospitals is engaged in promoting Malaysia as an attractive medical tourism destination. These factors are expected to result in around 689,000 medical tourists in 2012 from 425,500 in 2009, representing a CAGR growth of 17%.
